Biography

Toronto-born artist Ailene MacDougall, now based in Innisfil, Ontario, transitioned from urban and landscape art to vibrant abstract works in mixed media. A self-taught creative with a passion for colour and composition, she fully embraces her artistic journey after retiring from a business career. Ailene’s recent achievements include winning the 2024 Barrie Art Club People’s Choice award and having her work displayed at the Ontario Legislative Assembly in 2025. She is an active member of the Barrie Art Club and the South Simcoe Arts Community.
